Chantemerle

Chantemerle is a charming alpine village in the with immediate access to 250 kms of skiing and snowboarding and a great selection of cafes, bars, restaurants and shops. There is also an ice-skating rink, gym and cinema and in the neighbouring villages an ice-driving circuit and the famous natural spring baths of Monetier Les Bains. The Chantemerle téléphérique, or cable car, was Serre Chevalier’s first ski lift and at the time it opened in 1941 was the longest in Europe. By the 1950’s the resort was firmly established and really began to flourish.

Comprising four inter-linked ski areas of Le Monétier Les Bains, Villeneuve and Chantemerle and the historic town of Briançon, the resort offers a huge range of activities throughout the year. Serre Chevalier is the largest ski area in the Hautes Alpes and the fourth largest in France. Mountain altitudes range from 1350-2735m; perfect for skiers and snowboarders of all abilities and ages.Thanks to the regions exceptional microclimate the Serre Chevalier Valley enjoys 300 days of sunshine each year so you’re almost guaranteed perfect conditions to take to the slopes.
